Mississippi River Water Journey Camps: 2019 Exhibit

Reception for Rain Camp Exhibit (2017)
The exhibit shows the story of youth exploring their water systems to discover how they are interconnected with the Mississippi River.  In two summer camps, Water Journey: Rain!, and Water Journey: Drink!, youth start at a storm drain or a drinking fountain at their camp and follow the water along underground pipes, through pumps, water treatment plants, and wetlands, to the river, as they meet the professionals along the way that help protect our water. The exhibit shares what the campers experienced and created through their photographs, nature notebooks, hand made maps, and the final GIS (Geographic Information System) story maps about their journeys.
